About Vintage Sportwear

Vintage sportswear has a simple appeal: it was made when sportswear was still primarily made for sport. Thicker cotton, embroidered logos, and construction that held up to actual use. The 80s and especially 90s were the peak of that era before the shift to cheaper blends, printed graphics, and fast-fashion production cycles. However 2000s sportwear is also still very good.

The brands that defined it like Nike, Adidas, Champion, Reebok, Puma and Umbro produced pieces during this period that are significantly better made than their current equivalents. The same goes for outdoor crossover brands like Patagonia and Columbia, whose early fleeces and windbreakers have aged into something close to collector territory.

In here you will find all the crewneck sweatshirts, hoodies, windbreakers, fleece jackets, tracksuits, and the other rare pieces that we have at the moment.

FAQ

What brands does nonewcotton stock in vintage sportswear?

The collection focuses on authentic 80s and 90s sportswear — primarily Nike, Adidas, Champion, and Reebok, alongside outdoor brands like Patagonia and Columbia. Stock changes regularly as new pieces are added.

Is vintage sportswear true to modern sizing?

Rarely. Vintage sportswear, especially American-made pieces, tends to run differently from modern European sizing. Every listing includes exact pit to pit and length measurement, use those rather than the label size.

What era does vintage sportswear typically come from?

Most pieces in this collection date from the mid-1980s through the late 1990s — the period considered the golden era for sportswear construction and design. Occasionally earlier pieces from the 70s appear too.

What condition are the pieces in?

Each item is graded individually. Condition is described honestly in the product listing — we don't use "vintage wash" as a cover for damage.
